Thinking Through Paint.

Meg Walch is a Tasmanian artist who uses painting to investigate how thought takes form through matter. For more than 35 years, she has explored the fluid, viscous and plastic properties of paint as a means of investigating what painting can reveal about how we see, how we know, and how we make sense of an unstable world. Through a material-led studio practice, she treats painting as a form of thinking in which matter, perception and meaning continually shift and transform to unsettle assumptions, open new ways of seeing and give form to what is not yet known. Her paintings invite us to question what we take for reality and sense a world stranger, more fluid and less fixed than we might imagine.
